1. Trans in Summer

                By the Riverside, 2024

Summer: the season of light fabrics, exposed skin, and long, golden evenings. For many, it’s a time of freedom, but for trans people, it can feel like a double-edged sword. Layers, often a refuge for those grappling with dysphoria, become unbearable in the heat. The air feels heavier when your body doesn’t align with how you wish to be seen.

‘Trans in Summer’ is an illustration series dedicated to fantasies of bodily imagining. Allowing myself as a gay trans man to enter a cis world of cruisng and corporeal freedom that seems still far away for bodies like mine.
